maybe he is referring to what power level of ammo can he shoot out of his SB2 rifle (full house, reduce load, etc)....that would be my only other guess to a question of this nature.   ???

I don't know what the chamber looks like.  Will it chamber only chamber a .45 LC, or will it also chamber a .454 Casul?

I would say standard pressure 45 Colt and standard 410 shotgun shells.

The 454 Casull may chamber, but if the firearm doesn't say 454 Casull, then its not safe.

Tim has indicated the 45/410 barrel is made from different steel than the rest of the rifle barrels.  Would be safe with Ruger level 45 loads, maybe, but wouldn't want to go any higher.  DP.

The 45/410 barrel is 1137 steel, compared to 4140 for all centerfire rifle barrels, even if a Casull would chamber, I wouldn't try it, it's loaded to 65kpsi compared to 25kpsi for the Ruger +P loads compared to 14kpsi for standard 45 Colt loads. One member here emailed H&R to find out what 45Colt loads are safe in his  SB1 45/410 Survivor, dunno if he's got an answer yet, I've been at the range all day!! ;D

You already got the BEST advice...
To be safe,  If the caliber markings in the barrel don't match those on the case,  PLEASE DONT SHOOT IT!!

As Tim said the Cassul is MUCH more powerful and operates at MUCH higher pressures. Flatly, its not safe in a Handi.

There are a few instances where other calibers are safe, but these are all less powerful cartridges than thats stamped on the barrels. IE 38 and 357 in a Maxi or 44spl. /Russian in a 44 Maggie.

Ultimately the responsibility is yours. Just because it fits doesn't at all mead you should shoot it...
