When Ruger announced that they were going to produce the XGI in 308 (which sadly never happened), I told my dealer to get me one. This is the only time I've done that, as I like to wait awhile before buying any company's (including Ruger) new offering. In retrospect, it was probably for the better but, being ex-military with most of my time in uniform using the M14 (I'm giving away my age), I just plain wanted that Ruger. You know, I still do, despite all the competition. So, that's one I'd like to see but know it'll probably never happen.

To the poster who didn't seem too pleased with the Ruger rifles he's owned, I gotta say I'm sorry this has happened to you. I've never had a bad Ruger (and I've had quite a few over the years). So maybe at some point in the future I'm due. My latest addition (Ruger SS MK II) did initially have problems feeding from the magazine (with factory ammo) and opening the floorplate was difficult. However, with some usage, all this has been worked out. Yeah, the trigger could be better but it's not yet cost me a game animal. It is a boringly accurate rifle (if there is such a thing). For the price I paid for it and with its sturdy construction, I am well pleased with it. I have complete confidence that it will serve me well for years to come.

Slabsides, I was drinking coffee, when I read the last sentence of your post. Now I have to clean up the computer keyboard and monitor.

lets see. A 250 savage and 257 roberts 1a blued walnut. The return of the #3 in 250 sav and 475 linebaugh. A lever action that isnt ugly. Lastly and most importantly bring back the tang safteys on the bolt guns!

I prefer the 3 position safety myself, but to each his own.

I have a couple with the tang and a couple with the wing.
The tang is faster when knocking around in the woods and somthing jumps.
Shotgun smooth.
The wing is awkward for a snap shot and puts your hand out of place.
But I do like the center no fire position for unloading on the wing.

The latest interwebz rumor is that Ruger is going to bring out a 1911 pattern pistol.  :o

What they truly need to bring to market is a mil spec M1A but in stainless steel instead of playing with that XGI abortion. Price it < $1K and be ready to send truck loads out.

Gotta keep this thread alive.   :D

Ruger 327 Magnum lever-action carbine, with 8-10 shot rotory feed magazine.

Combines the best of Ruger ideas in a compact, easy to shoot, and unique package.

I really doubt they could price that under $1000, especially in stainless.  Heck, the Mini's are running $600+ now.

I like the rifles ruger turns out but I wish thay would  come out with some new rounds based on ther 375. I would like to see a 338,30,28,27. I wish thay would just neck down ther 375 and put a 25" or 26" bbls on them. I think thay are realy missing the boat hear!!!!!!
I shoot a 338 rum shortend to fit a ruger m77 and absolutly love that rifle.

I finally broke down and clicked this post, so here goes.

A Deerfield type gun with and without the following.

1. In a 'larger" pistol caliber such as .500 S&W

2. If above with a square stock butt and a really good recoil pad.

3. An extended size mag for those who deem it  necessary.

4. A 'normal' mounting for scopes both optical and red dot.

If they would have made a 257 Roberts in LEFT-hand, I would have bought it.   I went with the 30-06 and have enjoyed it with light to mid reloads though.  Very accurate.   Still..............had/have my heart set on owning a 257 "bob".

I vote Kalashnikov. If Ruger can make a bullet hose like the Mini, an AK should be no problem. Might even be able to compete with the WASR-10s.  ::) ::) ;D

Okay, I was just kidding about the AK.

Since Glock will never do it, how about a Police Carbine in 10mm that takes Glock 20 mags?  ;D ;D ;D

They need to keep the 45 LC in the Hunter so I can find one in town.I'm tried of have to track one down on the damn net, because they only make 5 when they fill like it.Not all of us want a 44.

My wish is that they make it a standard in the catolog.

I'd like to see a No1-A or 1b-B in 303 British.
It's the obvious chambering IMO.

There are some floating around, but darned few, and they don't float much! There are very thin rumors about 30-30's, and .303's in the No1. I do know a guy that has a pair of .250 Savage No.1 A's. No, not for sale.

I would kind of like to see Ruger do the Handi one better, prhaps on the lines of the old 219 Savage, or some of the English stalking / rook rifles. Interchangable barrels would be nice, and they sure have the equipment to do it. I don't think they would have to be high intensity cartriges either, rimmed rounds, light weight guns would be fine, but I know I'm in the minority here. As far as Handi's being just beginner's guns, check out the survey on the Handi forum here. I think around 375 members own something like 1500 Handi's. I would lik to see the 25-20 series, all the 30-30 based ronds, the 30-40 Krag, etc.

I'm betting that .257 rounds would feed through your 06' like corn through a goose. All you need is a Bob barrel! :D

But it would have to be based on a milled design so that they could use their casting expertise. They would screw it up by having it use their 7.62x39 mags instead of the standard .mil AK design. Then it would have a 24" barrel to get all the product warning notices on it and still not have either a bayo lug or flash hider.
 ::)

Saw their new product listings and was wondering how i could get a job in Ruger marketing. It is obvious that they sleep ~360 days out of the year at their desk, do some hallucinogenics, and throw out whatever comes to their back side.

I would like to see Ruger make a single shot rifle with a smaller receiver than the No.1 in the style of the Winchester Low Wall with a 18" barrel and chambered for the likes of: 22LR, 22 Hornet, 32-20, 357 Mag, 44 Mag, 223 Rem, and 30-30 Win.

I wish Savage would re-start the model 99 leaver rifle.

7/8th-sized Ruger #1 for rimfires and smaller centerfires, like 22LR, 17, hornet, 223, et al.

i had one of the early Mini-14's...horribly inaccurate...i got rid of it.  :-[

believe it or not, I'd like to see ruger produce a California legal, AR in the 9mm; or in another larger bore pistol cartridge(s)  :o :o :o

maybe like the PC9/4 in a pistol grip style.  :)

 8) :-\ ;) :)

Not long before the 77MKII was introduced, Ruger did prototype a 3 position tang safety. I'm not sure what they found wrong with it if anything, but obviously they decided to follow a diffferent path. I agree with a downsized No.1 since it would make a fine hunting rifle, and the current one, though graceful, and having good handling characteristics is heavier, and stronger than it needs to be for common hunting calibers. Maybe one bigger, and one smaller............. :D

They Do.
It is called the 22 Hornet.  ;)
Same basic ballistics.
Actually the 5.7 would be neat and could be done on the 22 Mag rather than the 44 mag reciever.

How about a Hawkeye 77 RSI in 45-70, SS with a wood stock? A 77/41 Mag would probably be too much to ask.

A sxs double rifle with decent sights, chambered in 45/70 or 303 non glare stainless and laminate stock, with 20" barrel a truly working double, would buy one in a heart beat, something that can be used and abused.

Would be ugly to true double rifle fans, but heck, while we are dreaming.
