I picked up a 25-06 for a friend today, I am impressed with the rifle at this point. He wants me to test it & work up a load, range report should be coming soon, Lord willing & weather permitting.

Well gents, I got home from Iraq last Friday, and headed to the gun shop early this week. I found a place that has three .25-06's and 1 .30-06 in the XL7. If I can get another $80, one of the .25-06's will follow me home! I handled the gun and several others, and overall I think the XL7 felt the best of all the synthetic stocked rifles I handeled. Now if only the XS7 was already out.

I picked up my XL7 30-06 from my FFL today. Total cost out the door was $299 ($281 delivered plus $3 for insurance and $15 for my FFL fee). I am very satisfied with the feel of the gun. I can't wait to scope it and shoot it. I just checked and Buds has a nice selection of XL7's. I will post a range report once I get it scoped and make a trip to the range. I am really excited after reading the positive post's on this forum. Charlie

Let us know how it shoots! I am close to having enough money for mine. Hopefully a few items I sold, will cover the rest of the cost, minus scope.

Yeah, I still have to save for the scope. I plan to put a Luepold on it. I bought this gun so I could hand my 7mm-08 Handi down to my son. I will probably scope it temporarily with a Simmons scope that is currently on the 7mm-08.  Charlie

We NEED to know how it shoots! Got that scope yet?  ;) I have the scope, but due to some misfortune at the wife's job, I am rifleless. I think I may just save my pennies and hopefully have enough for the XS7 when they get in gun shops.

I hope that works out soon. I picked one up (25-06) at Ash Flat about 3 weeks before the ice storm.

O.k. more info! I purchased a xl7 (camo) in .270 win. I like the look of the camo, bolt has a little bit of wiggle (for the price I can live with it), love the trigger (zero creep), and is very accurate! I sighted it in at 75 yards and after the final adjustment on my new VX1 3-9x40 the final shots were 1/4 of an inch apart (using Winchester Super X 130 gr pointed soft points). But I have a question and one more comment. Question- does the gun have to be resighted in, if I adjust the trigger lighter? I assume it does since I would have to pull the stock. Comment- this gun kicks like a mule, almost as much as a 300 WSM that I have! Absolutely a great buy and I will be buying one in another caliber, can never have too many!!!
