I never paid over 150 bucks for a used 336, not ever, and I've owned a lot of them.
You just can't get anything out of them in these parts. (N.E.Ohio, no rifles allowed for deer).
At present I have 5 336 rifles, 4 in 30-30 and one in .35 Rem. The .35 Rem is 90% , wears a Williams peep and I gave 150 because it was a .35 and in good shape.
I have two older ones without Micro-groove rifleing.
They are not in good shape, about 60% one made on 1950 and one in 1951.
I will refinish these myself as they are not worth the 125 Marlin wants to reblue them.
They are worth plenty to me. The bores are perfect, actions are perfect, just browned out with age and the stocks should be replaced or at least refinished.
I have a .357, .44 mag, .45 Colt, too many 30-30's, the .35 Rem and a 1895 in 45-70, oh, and a 39A of course.
