Parker vs Horton

Local pro shop carries PARKER.  Manager told me they fix a lot of broken Hortons and he is steering me toward a PARKER.  But I heard that Hortons are good bows from friend in Wyoming.

I read some older posts about PARKER.  Are you PARKER owners still pleased with your bows?  I'm considering the BuckBuster model.

Horton owners: any input you can share with me is appreciated.

I plan to hunt mulies and shoot targets.  Nope, not interested in spending big dollars for EXCALIBER.  I don't need a Lincoln to do the job of a Ford.

Remember you get what you pay for. some times it is not a good idea to go cheep and this is one of them

You may really want to look at the ten point or Excalibur line before you decide. You can always buy a used ten point or Excalibur

I can tell you from personal experience that ten point has the best customer service. I have one of the first phantoms that where sent out and had several issues with it, some from me, some from defects and some from it being one of the first and I can say they took care of everything. I understand that Excalibur is almost as good.

I bought the ten point because of the accudraw, My 8 year old son can draw the phantom for me using the acudraw with no troubles. well worth the money for it.

I did a lot of research on xbows.  This past weekend we had a Sportsman Expo in Richmond Va. and I had the chance to touchy feely the bunch.  I even shot a few.  I settled on the Ten Point GT-Curve.  I really liked the recurve xbow, but the Excalibers were a mite too much for what I wanted to pay.  But I was very happy to handle the Ten Point recurves.  It was as if it was made just for me.  The weight, balance and fit/finish was beyond the others.  The factory rep was a very considerate individual (Barb Terry) and helped me beyond what would have been expected of her.  I have yet to find someone that has had anything negative to say about this company. 

I would check out the two recurve models that Ten Point has to offer if that is what you are looking for.  matter of fact, check 'em all out and go from there.  I think you will be impressed.

I have the Parker safari magnum and I am very pleased with it and would recommend it to anyone. I helped a friend sight in a Horton and was disappointed with it and my friend remarked he wished he would have bought a Parker. I haven't had any  problem with mine and have shot it a lot.

I have put a couple of hundred shots on my Parker safari Mag 175# and am extremely pleased with it's speed, and it's 50 yard accuracy.  I would highly recommend it.

    Same here! I've had mine three years,(Safari Mag 150#)and no problems! :)They are hard to beat for the money. About any of the top line X-Bows are good performers,just try to handle as many as you can,before buying.

I ended up finding a second hand Huntmaster Advantage through Craig'sList for fair price.  Huntmaster was original name of the company we know as Ten Point.  Accuracy is exceptional.

Glad everything worked out for you.  In the end, it is what you want and you make the pick based on your research in this area.  Then again this is part of the process that is just as much fun as anything else.
