JPH45 shot his 38-55 lose in 2500 light loads, so pressure wasn't much of an issue, mainly just the wear from opening and closing the action for every shot taken. If you look at any hinge pin in any H&R single shot that's been shot much, the blueing is worn off at the wear points, a little lubrication on it will go a long ways towards keeping the action tight and shooting well. The pin is harder than the underlug, so the pin can't just be replaced to tighten it up, the barrel gets replaced or shimmed.
