Trying to identify a die's manufacturer
« on: August 04, 2008, 06:05:11 AM »
I recently inherited 2 sets of dies (not sure of vintage) that are marked "LEC" followed by the caliber and "Full Length Sizer". As the previous owner went to the Big Reload Bench in the sky, and no info was included, I would like to determine who the manufacturer was/is and try to get some further info on the dies before using them. Phone inquiries have verified that they are not Lee or Lyman and I wanted to see if anyone here might recognize the name of the mfg.
Thanks.

Sorry.  I did some searching and am not coming up with much.  Though I probably can't help, some pics might be useful if you can post them.  Sometimes die companies get renamed or bought out and you can still find the "current" manufacturer (for example, old Pacific Durachrome dies are pretty much the same as Hornady dies as they were bought out).

In any event, I'd certainly be interested in hearing what you find.  Older dies interest me a lot.  Almost like a little piece of history :).

They are Lachmiller Engineering Co. dies.  Probably came in a red plastic box.

Thanks all for your help. The dies were not in the original storage cases and did not have any other identifying info so I was at a loss as to who mfg'd them.
