Just wanted to get a feel for when ya'll reload? Do you do that as soon as possible or closer to the next match?

Curious minds want to know....

When I've generated 400-500 .44 Spc. empties for my guns, or the same amount of .38 Spc. empties for Texana's guns. Try to keep at least 400-500 loaded for each caliber at all times. Also try to keep 8-10 boxes each of 20 ga. and 12 ga. shotshells on hand.

Very often the night before, when I check my stock.... Some times my loaded supply determines what guns I use.

I usually wait till I'm down to just enough boolets for a match or two, then I try to get busy and load up a bunch. I'm still using a single stage press, and loading a couple of thousand rounds pretty much gets me through Gettysburg, Texas, Quigley, Tombstone, and a John Wayne or two, but it leaves me feeling better than I have since the last time I did the reloading. I enjoy those days.

Hey DB,
Just got my 500 cases yesterday--figure you should have yours by now.
We had our match this past week-end and it was a might warm. Don't think Aug or Sept will be much better. Can't wait till fall.

Going with my brother this coming week-end to get him a rifle. He's as much into CAS as I am. Gotta love this sport/hobby.

I usually knock out 500 rounds of rifle at a whack. I generally like to keep a couple of hundred shotgun made up too, but this year since I am shooting C&B, the night before I fill loading tubes with a Lee measure and add ball and take the tubes with me to the shoot. I like the tubes and using the Lee measure better than using a flask at a shoot. Just my preference, but I found my loads are most consistant that way. :grin:

that is the reason i do not shoot cas---my wife will only let me load one bullet--and then only ifn i need it.

I always try to keep lots loaded up . Just in case my son in law wants to go with me shooting. He is a good shooting partner.

I even load up my bp loads in advance when I get a chance.

Heyya Ya'll

Here is my normal weekly schedule:
Saturday............shoot a local match
Sunday..............shoot a local match
Monday..............Clean guns
Tuesday.............reload
Wednesday........think about yard work
Thursday...........Load up the motorhome
Friday...............Drive to range/help set up steel

and so on, and so on.

Being retired does have its advantages!!! As you can see though, Wednesday is a very tough day for me. Since I started shooting Cowboy Action my yard looks similar to the Adams family house.

I keep my cases for the .32-20 match guns loaded. As I finish a match I reload the brass and put them to the bottom of the shelf. I have 1226 rounds loaded right now and I use an RCBS Single Stage Press.

I do pretty much the same as you do I load my empties when I get home from the match. In the case of two matches back to back saturday and sunday I'll wait til both matches are over before I reload the brass. I shoot .45 Colt and I keep between 1000 and 1500 rounds of loaded ammo but not all of it is CAS ammo. With the CAS ammo some of it is BP loads and some is Smokeless. I also keep defensive ammo in .45 Colt for my Rugers and bear stomper loads for my Blackhawk for when I'm out in the back country and I need a backup gun for bear.
