What would you get.

Most of you guys I would say have more experience with this.  What stock would you get for a .308, I thought I would get the heavy barrel.  I have a thumb hole stock on my .243 and really like it, but was just curious about what stock you would get for this gun.  Just curious to see what stock everyone prefers.  Thanks.

It depends on what you plan to do with the rifle , if it will only see a shooting bench then the UV set from H&R or Choate ( same set ) would be a fine choice .

But if you plan to spend any time in the wet & cold , look at some of the diffrent Laminates that are offered as they will resist warping better just by design .

It also comes down to your likes and dis-likes , some like a strait stock while others like a Monti-Carlo style .

I like the Monte Carlo style and want something durable but yet comfortable. I was just wondering what was all out there.

In that case get a set of the factory offered Camo Laminates with a Monti-Carlo cheek peice , either checkered or not , depending on taste and add a Limbsaver recoil pad to replace the factory pad - BIG diffrence in felt recoil .

Go the FAQs and find the link about Show Your Handi's or something like that , lots of pics to give you some idea as to what is out there .

I like the monte carlo ones with the heavy barrels too..they just feel "right" to me..
