Cool Mornings Spur The Itch
« on: August 13, 2008, 04:17:52 AM »
I have no idea what the weather is doing in your area. But here the weather has been cooler in the mornings. When it starts feeling and smelling this way in the mornings. I get the itch to go out in the garage and sort steel. Basically I hate cleaning the garage, but when I start sorting traps I can get lost out there for hours.

The conventions have kept me from working on my own traps.
I spend most of my free time, making snares and cable restraints, cableing berkshires, and loading and unloading the truck and trailer.
I hope to spend one day this next week, dipping some of my own traps. would be nice to have some done now, instead of having to wait till mid october, after I do my last convention.

Good to see you made it home safe from NTA. I would have like to stick around and yack more with you, but I feel like I interfer with your business. It was good to see you again though and I will yack at you some more in Marshfield.
I plan to dip some traps this week and I messed around in the garage for couple hours the other day. I got all my of the stuff that needs dipping and dying sorted out at the end of trapping. That is a first for me, so I just need to drag those totes out and adjust and dip. I still have traps that get dyed and waxed too, so I need to get them out also.
I love the cool mornings and the smell of traps cooking.

Mark, you should have stuck around--there was no interference to be had.Going to pick one day this weekend to dip, going to let everything else wait. For once I will just kick back and take the time to enjoy some trap preparation.
Got several dozen 330's to recable and dip, along with 100 or so stoploss. Then some odds and ends. Looks like perfect dipping weather coming up.

32 degrees over night in Hibbings MN last night, was in the high 40's here. I hope the skeeters are dying in droves up there. The flannel shirt mornings are close at hand now.
