Where to Go For Cats and Coyotes ?
« on: July 29, 2003, 05:12:55 PM »
I don't have any cats where I live. If I wanted to take a trapping trip to catch cats and coyotes, where should I go ? What state/area has a good many to trap to maximize my chance to catch a cat on a week long trip ? I only wanna catch one cat, not run a line for a bunch like a state-hopper.

Wow, seems to me that Texas has a good population of cats.  Why don't you contact some Texas boys to hook up with?  Now if you want to trap NM it will cost you $360 for a liscense for starters followed by food, lodging and transportaion.  One other point while I often catch cats in the first few days after setting, I think 3-4 weeks for a catline.

Certain sections of TX are famous for large numbers of both coyote and cat so you probably wouldn't have to go too far.  Like wacky says, get in touch with some TX trappers for more information on specific localities. Ace
