Remington 600 question.

I used the search function and really couldn't dig any specifics up, so.
I have found a Remington 600 in 308. Looks to be in OK shape at an OK price. Also looks to be just about the ticket for a nice and lite deer rifle.
Anyone have any experience with these?

I've a .243 and had a .308 in the Rem 600.  Both shoot very accurately.  I liked the .243 better and sold the .308 during hard times some 35 years ago.  Wish I had it back.  Go for it, I don't think you will be unhappy with the choice.  Rem had a recall on them regarding the triggers.  Both were sent back and Rem 700 triggers were installed.  Very crisp and extremely short lock time.  Check out the one you are looking at.  It may or may not have had the trigger replacement.  Also, Midway sells metal floor plates for this rifle.  A bit expensive but much more reliable.

I had a .243 and a .350 Mag. The .243 was a sweet little gun. The .350 kicked like a mad mule.
Sold them both. Really wish I hae kept the .243.
IMHO, one of the best guns Remington ever made.

I bought my .243 new from K mart in 1968 before I moved to Alaska for $70.  I could have bought a .350 Rem Mag in the same model for the same price.  I wish now I had cause the .350 Rem Mag is selling around $1200 compared to the .243 at about $600.  Also, it would have served me better in Alaska than the .243, but I don't have any complaints with it on the game I've shot.  These include a record bull caribou, several large caribou and over 20 Sitka Black Tailed deer that field dressed around 110 #'s.  Not one needed a second shot, however I did place a second in 2 of them hurry the inevitable while they lay there.

If it was sent in for the safety upgrade it will have a triangular stamp on the trigger.If not all it will cost you is shipping fees to have the factory upgrade it.Goog Luck

Graet rifles I have two in 6mm Remington and they are my favorite.  Very accurate and light.
