i was told that lithium grease is a good lube for patched round ball. what your opinion ?

I've never tried it, but I imagine that it would work ok with a little load workup.

I tried it and didn't like it. Shot well, but made cleanup a lot tougher. I had problems with getting the lithium grease, with the remains of the nasty stuff leftover from combustion, out of the rifling.
I stick with crisco.

Petrolium based lubes are problematic in blackpowder guns , stick to organic based lubes. Fouling issues with the petro lubes are main problem.

Many different lubes have been used through the years...I used to shoot with a guy that used axle grease, nasty stuff, but he won enough at Friendship that I sure wasn't going to tell him different...

lithium grease. ya know, that could very well be the improvment we've all have been waiting for, for 100 years of patched round ball shooting.
might even beat hydrolized pariffin wax with fragrance and vegatable oil, keep tryin
