I have most of the different model/caliber Generation 1 Glocks, but have nothing from the newer generations of the Glock pistol.  Are the differences between the various generations worthy of conversation, do the differences go beyond the addition of the "rail system?"  Regards, JHT

There were several "upgrades" along the way, from breech-face cuts to striker mods done due to safety concerns.

You might want to contact Glock Inc. in Smyrna, as they will perform any needed upgrades for free.

Here's one link with some info one one of the upgrades: http://www.glockmeister.com/fpupgrad.shtml

I perfer the finger-grooves and thumb "dimples" in the 3rd generation frames, as they fit me very well.
