CZVZ,,,my Local buddy.....glad to hear you found your load!! On another board here I read a reduced load post in .308.....was loading some for the Rossi and decided to drop some 110 grain .308's on the x39 load. I opted for H4895 and used a 60% load based on the H4895 reduce rule of 40% max reduction from Max load.
Anywho not to bore anyone with details
(as it is foolish to follow my written lead...look it up and make your own load) But I found the 110 grain .308 bullets to shoot VERY well at 45 yds. Very very nicely. I noticed that every single case had unburnt powder however. The 4895 is just not fast enough to ignite all powder? The 110 is too light? I did not heavy crimp as the 110's have no canelure but did "snug them" a touch.
All in all, shooting from a single shot, I'd use the load. I DO however have to say that even a 26.5 grain H4895 was just as accurate with a .312 diameter bullet.
I'm just glad you got your x39 to "settle in" and perform! My 30.06 rossi doesn't have a "load yet" but I haven't tried to get one. The .223 has impressed me as of late and I keep bringing that one along. I have really turned into a SLOW and Steady shooter. Most of my rounds are reduced rounds. The pleasure of shooting 80 - 100 rounds with no recoil is just too NICE.
