Need a good load for Stevens 200 in 22-250
« on: August 21, 2008, 05:26:51 AM »
I am looking for a good recipe for a Stevens model 200 in 22-250.  I got a deal on the gun, and would hope it would shoot as straight as the .223 model 200's that I've seen.  Any and all suggestions on a good, accurate handload to start with would be appreciated.

Thanks
Jasper

my go-to 22-250 load is 35gr RL15, Sierra 52gr HPBT. this load is great in my Savage 12fv. However the rifle has a 26" barrel. my suggestion is to back off to 33.5gr and work up.
GOOD LUCK and GOOD SHOOTING!!!!!

My 22-250 likes 36 grains of Varget with 50 grain Hornady V-max pellets and Winch WLR primers. This load chronos at 3488 fps out of my Model 70 stealth rifle.
