358 JDJ-225 gr Partition or Sierra Gameking??

If there are any 358 JDJ shooters out there I would like to know if anyone has tried the 225 Sierra Gameking.  I spoke with Sierra on Friday and they said that bullet would expand reliably down to 1600 FPS and Probably some under that!  Nosler Partition's, which I currently use, will expand to around 1800 FPS.  In a 14" barrel pistol that is a pretty big difference.  Has anyone tried them?  How did they work on game?  Accuracy?  Any input would help me out.  I am currently out of bullets and Sierras are a lot cheaper than Noslers but if there is a difference in performance I'll pay extra and stick with the Nosler.

The Game King is too hard for .358 JDJ velocities according to Sierra. I used only 225 grain Noslers in mine. I preferred the BT which I think has now been replaced by an AB. That's what I'd use if I were you.

I'm not too smart but what I would do would be to e-mail Jones or call him and get the skinny from him.  More than likely he can answer your question with more insight than most on here.
I would say the 225 BT like Graybeard said would be one of if not his favorite but one never knows unless one asks.

You're putting a .357 caliber hole in an animal.  If the bullet didn't expand at all and went through the heart or lungs would it really matter?  What if you made a bad shot and your bullet had to get through guts to reach vital organs; which bullet would be more likely to get there, one that expanded or one that didn't?

I have a really problem understanding all the angst about bullets expanding.  I would use the bullet with the best accuracy if I were going to use it on deer (which aren't really tough animals).  In my experience, Sierra bullets have been some of the most consistently accurate bullets for the cartridges I've tried them in.

When asked Sierra specifically said to NOT use their bullet in the .358 JDJ. As a rule JD recommends the use of Nosler BTs in most of the JDJ rounds. I tried about all the various options out there and settled on the 225 BT for most use but if I were going after really big tough or dangerous game I'd go with the PT instead. I can tell you from experience it works quite well on deer and turkey both.

  There are good bullets and not so good bullets. I've used almost all the bullets available in my 358JDJ. Some would knock the deer down right there, while the exact same hit with another make,same weight bullet will go thru like an FMJ. SURE the deer died, EVENTUALLY! The Speer pointed 200 grain was to hard to reliably expand on broad side shots on deer. Noslers are a bit more expensive. I found the Hornady 200 grain round nose to be an excellent compromise for deer and black bear. It is ground hog accurate (in MY gun), Expands on deer and kills them right now. It is good for ANY angle to over 200 yards,straight away or broad side.
    Accuracy sure is important, BUT I hunt on some public land where a deer that runs over 75 yards is most likely getting tagged by some one else when I get there. I'll give up a couple pounds of venison to KEEP the rest of the animal ! Try a few expansion  and accuracy tests on the bullet you think is best. Then compare YOUR results, you may be surprised at the results.
