What was the cutoff point for H&Rs w / metal spacers and trigger guards? Also, did NEFs ever have them?   KODY

I found metal on a 1906 H&R shotgun once.Don't know if there was a definative date for the switch but I would suspect they were using some plastics in the 50's and 60's as they were pretty common on most of the 1970 stuff.  Kurt

The transition seems to have occurred during the mid to late 1940's - during the switch over from the Model 48 to the Model 58/158.
