Half-Ton Suspect Poses Problem for Court!!!!!!!!!
« on: August 24, 2008, 04:38:55 PM »
EDINBURG, Texas (Aug. 22) - Prosecutors are trying to decide how to jail and bring to court a nearly half-ton, bedridden woman accused of killing her 2-year-old nephew.
A grand jury on Thursday indicted Mayra Lizbeth Rosales, 27, on one count of first-degree murder and on one count of injury to a child in the death of Eliseo Gonzalez Jr. She previously had been charged with capital murder.
Rosales weighs nearly 1,000 pounds and cannot fit through a door to leave her home, leaving prosecutors wondering how to bring her to court. As of Thursday evening, she was not in custody.
Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Trevino said holding her at the county jail for her trial would be impossible because she needs extensive medical care.
"She would die," said Trevino in Thursday's online edition of The Monitor in McAllen.
The grand jury indicted Rosales after an autopsy confirmed investigators' suspicions that the child died March 18 because he had been struck. Investigators believe the toddler was struck at least twice, crushing his head.
Authorities recommended Rosales' bond be set at $150,000.
The boy's mother Jaime Rosales, was charged earlier with injury to a child because she allegedly left her son alone with his aunt. Her bond has been set at $100.000.

a good attorney will get her off. "Ladies and gentleman of the jusy how could this poor disabled victim of mcdonalds have committed the horrible crime. She is bedridden and could not have possibly done this."  Arrest mayor mccheese for making this lady what she is today. " She is extensibly placed herself on house arrest since she cant get out of the house.  cut off her medical care and let her die there.

At 1,000 lbs she can do very little for herself. Hard to comprehend her killing a child in her condition. The county better be ready for some real heavy duty medical bills if they go through with this. I would more suspect the kids mother. POWDERMAN.  ??? ??? :o :o :o :o

Unless the kid was in bed with her there is no way she could have done it and might not have been able even if he was in bed with her. She might have rolled over on him but for folks that large even rolling in bed is not an easy task. I'd be more inclined to suspect the mother.

Seems pretty simple to me.
2 year old comes whinning at the bed side. (that's what 2 year olds do)
This chick picks up her arm, it probably wieghs 3 time what the kid does,
and bashes his head so he will quit bugging her.

It's very sad. Normal sized people do it all the time.

I don't know if she did it or not but the mother needs jail time for leaving a toddler with someone who can't take car of them.

Dale

Now, if I correctly recall another article, the mother had been instructed or ordered to not leave the child alone with the aunt. To me, this implies there's a bit of the story we have not yet heard.

That the aunt could not care for herself is reason enough to not leave the child there.

Having grown up with a very obese and abusive mother I can see how this could have happened.  The child could do anything to set off the bitter old woman, and she picked up what ever she could get her hands on and either swung or threw it at the child.  Take her to jail, put her on a diet.

I agree.  She didn't have any compassion for the kid she killed, why should there be any granted for her?
