new forend really tight

I jusy got a synthetic stock set and the forend is really tight fitting. Do these have to be opened up or fitted in any way? Haven't shot it yet but it seems like it is putting way to much pressure on the barrel. It is supposed to be the standard one, an H&R part from brownells.

That's a problem with the syn forends, but they can be fixed, see the FAQs.
