i just got back from the gun shop the guy told me that t/c is selling all encores as pistol frames from now on did any of you guys here that.

That means that you can make it into a rifle without getting into some states without getting into trouble. if it was a rifle frame, then you put a 12" barrel on it, it become a short barreled rifle, which the atf doesn't like unless you pay the $200 tax.

No I hadn't heard that but, awhile ago my dealer received a bulletin from the state of PA that he was to treat all T/C Contender and Encore frames as pistol frames, and we are now required to fill out the PA State Police's "Application/Record of Sale" form for any and all Contender and Encore frames regardless of how they came from the factory.  Maybe that explains why the state started that.
