Welcome! That's an unusual combo, not one that's ever been discussed, where'd ya order it? I have a 22-250 Fluted Ultra that shoots real good, FWIW.

I ordered it from wholesale sports in Winnipeg. I went in to look for a 22-250 saw the H&R handi and loved it. They wanted $279 for wood. Then the guy tells me there is a combo 22-250/ 20ga for $319 in Calgary that is synthetic, In said sold.Just for kicks I went to cabalas down the road and the guy said they don't make them anymore. I know Calgary had 2 left I I'm taking one. That,s about all I know and I can't wait to get it.This will be my first NEF/H&R. Hope I'm happy.

That would be one heck of an over and under; I wonder if Remington will ever make anything like that.  I always wondered why H&R/NEF didn't.

H&R has made many different combos over the years, a couple years ago they even made a limited run of 3-barrel combos that included a rimfire barrel. ;D

Pete, H&R combos are 2-barrel combos, 2 separate barrels that can be installed on the frame one at time, not over/unders like the Savage M24.

Yes, I know Tim,  I was Just wondering why they never made anything like the M24.  It seems that is a very popular and not inexpensive model.  My friend and neighbor has one in 20 ga./.22 mag and it's a great little truck gun.

Welcome to GBO and the Handi side.

Looking through a 2006 H&R catalog I see they had a Handi-Rifle/Pardner Shotgun Combo and it appears that was the only year it was available. The receiver was nickel-plated. Black synthetic stocks. Blued barrels.
Rifle calibers included .223 Rem, .243 Win, .22-250 Rem, 30/06 Spg. and .270 Win.
Shotgun: 20 Gauge w/Modified Choke

Sorry, but what is the receiver and nickel-plated is that good or bad? Also does it say if it is a bull barrel? So the guy at cabelas was right eh.It's looking like I found a new hobby with NEF/H&R, just don't tell the wife.

The blue area marked in this picture of another Handi rifle would be the receiver.

The catalog indicates a standard contour barrel - 22 inches in length.

Nickel plated, good or bad? Sorry someone smarter than I will have to answer that question.

Matt nickel  is nice looking, but it isn't stainless if there's any benefit to it. I have two nickel framed H&Rs, one came on an SS 30-06, the other is a Topper Deluxe Classic that I made a turkey gun out of with a synthetic stock, I painted the bright frame black to match the rest of the gun!! ;)

Tim, I put my stainless '06 and Huntsman barrels on blue frames for that reason.  I'm really looking hard at the .45-70 all stainless.  The plague has got me!!! Help!!!

Here's a scanned copy from the one mentioned in the catalog:

Not real clear but should give you a general idea of what it looks like.

I hear ya Bill, I know it's been calling your name!!  ;D

Here's a side by side pic of the SS 45-70 Ultra next to a matte nickel framed 30-06 in gray lams, not a lot of difference in the appearance, although it may look different under different lighting conditions. Below that is a combo pic that I saved from one of the catalogs, if you right click the pic and save it, then open the pic, it will be a better view....or just click the attached version file name below that and click open.
