Mine which I made, is pretty much like this BIANCHI Ranger HUSH system with the exception that I have added ammo loopes to my set up. This is very quiet and adds no weight to your hips which with a heavy handgun can be a problem towards the end of the day.

This also can be worn over any jacket or coat etc.

This is my version of materials I had on hand.

1. #18 Sidekick holster fits S&W N frame or Taurus Raging Bull 6" to 6.5" handguns ($12.99)
2. Two 6 round Sidekick ammo loops sown to the webbed adjustable strap ($8.99 each)
3. Added a small webbed adjustable belly belt for securement around stomach. (Had on hand already)
4. Wide woven cotton belt available at any Fabric Store and buckle for about $6.99

Looks good. I would like to do something similar. How did you attach the holster to the belting?

The wide webbed belt was threaded thru the belt loop on the back of the holster, then turned so that is under the loop and sown so the angles don't straighten back out. The line I used because of it's strength is spiderwire for fishing with simply because it is the strongest line I had here at the house.

I simply looked at Bainchi's holster and said, I can do that and did.

I just made this holster for my 6" Freedom Arms .454 Casull with 2X Burris and TSOB 3-ring mount. It can be worn strong side or crossdraw.

I made these a while back for my .45 Colt Blackhawk and Single-Six. They can both be worn strong side or crossdraw also.

Yesterday I carried all day with my new set up while out filming while my brother inlaw as bowhunting, and I can tell you that it was so much easier than belt carry.

I don't like the way a shoulder holster feels. This paint ball holster works better for me. It does move when I walk but I'm hunting then and I have my hand resting on the gunbutt which keeps it still.

Jerry you have to do what works well for you. Now does that muzzle break on that S&W rub against your leg when you walk? I saw a chest holster sold here locally where I live that is more centered on the chest, that would make drawing very difficult for the user. But you have a holo sight on your S&W, and with those large X frames holsters are not cheap as I was pricing them for maybe getting either the .460 Magnum or the .500 Magnum in the future.

I just had to think of all my posible situations of handgun hunting, from sitting at the base of a tree to possibly even using a tree stand etc.

I did change a few things on mine as I removed the ammo loops and buckel on the web strap that crosses my shoulder. The ammo loops see to pull the strap away from my body causing some noise when my 629 was being pulled from the holster and in some way hampered getting a good clean grip as well. So I moved one ammo strip onto the belly adjustment strap which seems to work better. I can add the other ammo strip to the same adjustment belt if need be as well.

The key to these types of holsters is comfort for the user.

I used the over the shoulder style cross draw holster ( much like the one that the montanan shows, no offense here it just didn't work for me)for a year and thought it was a p.i.t.s. every time I wanted to take off my jacket after it warmed up off came the holster. put the jacket back on take off the holster. then I transformed it to a belt holster, funny how the cowbows who carried all the time used this style of holster. the only problem is in Wisconsin I have to be carefull my jacket don't hang over the revolver or they will ticket me for a concealed weapon. we need a new Governor, he vetoed the concealed carry twice now. I like this system for my big 8 in raging bull with a holo site, easy draw, fast draw, and comfortable to walk with hand on grip.

Hoggunner, yep you got to CYA there because of that... it is just plain dumb to not allow conceal out in the woods. Here, it don't matter if your out away from any city or town, you can carry concealed.

I've gotta be honest, this is really just one of the ways I carry during hog or deer season. This is more like my hog carry method in the spring and fall during warmer temps.

During the winter and deer season, I just use an Uncle Mike's nylon vertical shoulder holster (that fits up to 6.5" revolver) for my Razorback.

I attach holster to a regular cartridge belt and sling it over my left or right shoulder depending on if I'm carrying a bow with my left hand or a shotgun with my right hand.

This rig was made by Levergun Leatherworks for my 500 S&W with a 10.5 barrel.
Very nice and fits great.

Ranger Rick that is very nice looking set up. Levergun Works does do some nice work indeed.

I have Dave making one of his Quiet Hyde Holsters for me, as he just got my handgun trace in the mail. I had my brother in law D&T my 629 for using my red dot should I decide to play around at the bench with it. But the other night I just couldn't get used to that red dot moving around. I have never been a handgun scope guy before so iron sights have always been clean.

My 629 seconds as a trail and CCW handgun so the red dot would not be an option during those times. But if it were dedicated to just hunting with......

Anyway, sorry I got carried away here since we're showing off holsters. These all look great!

Here's mine,
It works great with a pack, i wear it cross draw under the packbelt.
I made the holster and the grips(first try on the grips) i just couldn't stand the big old uuuugly rubber grips that came on it. thanks for looking,snuffysmith.

Thats some nice work Snuffy! Here is another holster I made a while back for my BFR in .454 Casull (wearing SBH grip panels). It can be worn strong side or crossdraw.
