In order to introduce Obama to influential liberals in the district, she held a function at the home of Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn. Ayers was a would-be murderer of soldiers and policemen. He had the ill fortune to be the subject of a profile in the New York Times on September 11, 2001, in which he said that he didn't regret his attempted murders and only wished that he had planted more bombs.

Why is he being fast tracked to the White House? Who is behind him?

Who ever is behind Obama is superbly competent at public relations, and keeps a close eye on the internet, with a highly competent staff ready to leap into action at the slightest hint of a problem.

Buying that sort of support costs a /lot/ of money. True, volunteers could do it, but volunteers talk, and still have to be fed and housed. That takes a different sort of money, and they are not as disciplined as people relying on a paycheck are. Nope, there's a highly professional organization behind him, out of sight.

And that takes a LOT of money.

I think his sudden rise is due to the fact that he is an excellent public speaker, he's young, he's different in appearance, and he is promising change in government, which EVERYONE wants. The voting public doesn't realize that what he is promising is not only VAGUE, but not do-able from the white house. The media whom is ULTRA LIBERAL is promoting him, about 10 to 1 over McCain, and that certainly doesn't hurt anything either.
Although some here view the Iraq war as a good thing, about 72% of the rest of the United States sees it as an exercise in futility, as far as forming any lasting democracy in a Muslim country, and realize also that they truly had nothing to do with 911. This is a big promoter for Obama also.
As far as someone indicating that Palin's husband and son, are democrats, I believe it was published that they are actually INDEPENDENTS. Big difference.

A few key worth noting responsibilities for the VP job.

I'll grant the third is actually done at least on occasion. The first two are duties actually on paper for the job but pretty much never used. I suppose that's more the call of the VP than the President really so should she wish to do those duties I suppose she really could. It's rare the opportunity to vote is offered but if/when it is that can be a very important factor.

I've not researched it but really can't remember a VP ever actually taking on the task of Presiding over the Senate. Wouldn't that be a new and perhaps refreshing change should she and he be elected and she do that.

Agree... If McMain gets in I would like to see Palin preside over the senate as the VP is suppose to. Maybe we can watch her beat Reed, Obama, Clinton, Shummer and Keneddy back into their seats.

I honestly can't say how Sara feels about Illegials, it's a subject that is not prevalent here in Alaska.  Not many Mexicians want to come here.  Plus they have to cross three borders to get here.  It's a subject we have never asked her that I am aware of.

Everyone that I talk to keep saying the same thing.  McCain is old and not in good health, there is a chance that Sara can become President.

i am closer to being able to vote for mccain  but still not there yet
i guess maybe it is just my problem to be so focused on the illegal thing
but to my way of thinking all the issues are kind of connected
but i still see the illegal thing as most critical
IF he were to waffle & cave & sign an amnesty bill as president i fear the floodgates would be opened
within 10-15 years we would have a super minority to go along with all the other special minority groups all vying for special attention
