There was no way I was voting for Obama, but I feel much better about McCain now that he's chosen Palin as his running mate.

Its over for Obama ,Palin was just asked if she was qualified to be the VP by an female reporter ,she answered by asking the reporter if she was qualified to be stupid.
Palin will take this entire thing over ,if you just saw her speech you would see what i am talking about.
The Hillary camp is even cheering about this , she said that she had warned Obama if Palin got into this race she would clean his clock.

I'm glad to have someone who hunts and fishes and shares a lot of good principle values. The fact that she's a woman who is NOT like Hillary is a plus. She's supposedly a maverick on some issues so it will be interesting where she differs.

I am now firmly committed to McCain. Was waiting to see who he chose.
Now I just hope he quits trying to suck up to the republican party insiders and continues to be the man he was eight years ago.

Trouble is starting already , women are joining the McCain side in mass.
ABC is saying this is the Palin / McCain ticket , and if Alaska is any indicator the more the Media bad mouths her the more popular she gets.
90% approval rating in her Home State , and if you don't know who she is ,you soon will know.
She just had a 20 minute phone conversation with Putin , i think he likes ole Sarah.

Her don is about to be deployed to Iraq.
If Alaska is any indicator ,the more they attack her the more the people will love her.
McCain knows that a vote now for him is really a vote for Palin.

It sounds like Sarah kicks a$$ and takes names. I understand that she nailed corruption in Alaska state politics very aggressively . . . nailing corrupt Republicans, from her own party, up against the wall. She is pro-life and gave birth knowing her baby would be a Down's syndrome child. She has attacked and resist the influence of lobbyists on politics. She has attacked and resists the corrupton of earmarks. She is a very strong addition to the McCain ticket, no doubt about it. She is a person of energy and principle. Something that is very rare in national politics, I think.

I have to say that McCain's selection of this woman tells me a lot about McCain that I haven't been seeing. McCain must be a fighter and a reformist to choose a woman like this. I was solidly behind McCain, whatever my reservations may have been, if for no other reason than my pragmatic realism with respect to the preservation of my second amendment rights. Clearly Obama/Biden are inimical to our second amendment rights and McCain is less threatening to our second amendment rights. Particularly, I would expect McCain to nominate conservative, originalist US Supreme Court judges. But this VP selection fills me with excitement and joy.

Dunno but I sincerely hope so.

I really do not consider John McCain to be Presidental material to be honest but he is MILES ahead of the other option we have and one of them is gonna be the next President so I sure hope it's MaCain.

He is an old fart even more so than me. I'm not sure of his health but it's entirely possible he might not last out his first term. Of course that really applies to any new office holder. Still he or her either or both are far better choices than Obama.

I really don't particularly like women in politics and most times it seems to me they really foul things up royally when elected. For examples look at Pelosi, either of the broads from CA or the governor of LA and you'll see what I mean. Still from the reports of those in AK she seems a level headed person and appears to be doing a good job up there as Govenor. Still there is a HUGE difference in being Govenor of any state and being President of the US. It bothers me greatly that ANY woman might fill that office to be honest as I just do not think it an appropriate spot for them. Call me what ya will I just don't like women in politics but I sure would rather see her there than Obama. I'm not sure he'd make a good choice for dog catcher but think that office far more fitting to his capabilities than that of President.

His loyalties lie in Africa not the US and I figure if elected he'd do his dead level best to turn the US into a mirror image of Africa and anyone who has looked lately should be able to tell that's NOT good. Call me racist if you wish and I'll not really argue too much with you on that label but I've yet to see any govermental unit run by blacks either in the US or out of it that isn't grossly messed up and mismanaged. They seem to totally control politics in B'ham and Jefferson County here in Bama. It appears that the County is going to have to file bankruptcy as they can't do anything else they have gotten into such a mess and B'ham isn't likely far behind them in it. The inner city and apparently the county as well has such a large population of blacks they keep electing only blacks to run them and they just ruin all they touch there. It looks like eventually they'd see the error of their ways but so far they haven't and it seems each time they pick new folks they are worse than those they replaced and things just keep going down hill.

This country is in one sad mess and it's not getting better any time soon. I sure am glad I'm an old fart with not so many years left ahead of me to have to put up with what's coming. I'd feel sorry for those left behind after I'm gone but dang it they are doing it to themselves so it's hard to feel sorry for folks who are getting what they ask for.

In the case of a liberal Democrat, it mattereth not whether they are male or female -- they both suck. What did you think about Margaret Thatcher, Golda Meier, and Indira Ghandi? They kicked ass, in my recollection. I think Kay Bailly Hutchison of Texas hasn't been too bad as a US Senator from my home state of Texas. Women bring something to the table that men don't have. Granted, they have limitations based on their sex, but they have some advantages, I assume, that are related to their sex. I stick to what is good for America and it's economy. I have to live here after all. I barely scratch by because I have to feed all the free loaders. I don't care who lives in America as long as the aren't on social security, welfare, or food stamps. Those who work can eat. Those who don't can starve. That's my line of reasoning.
