August 30, Good morning Montana
« on: August 30, 2008, 02:38:28 AM »
Suns just coming up, some high scattered clouds and it looks like it may be a bit breezy today, but then it is North Central Montana.

The unpacking continues... was slowed yesterday by The VP announcement...bet she'd go gopher hunting with us if we asked, the others wouldn't.  Makes her highly qualified in my eyes.

Gotta unpack book boxes this morning...that's not all bad, they are gun books. So that 2 hour job should take all day.  Hey you have to check each book and make sure the pages in the right order...got one right here, the Greener Story by Graham Greener. Was looking up the Greener GP Shotgun. Gonna use mine on Huns this year.

Tomorrow I have to unpack guns, that two hour job should take about a week.  Interesting.  2 1/2 years ago when I put the guns in storage I cleaned and dried them thoroughly.  The guns were stored in a high altitude dry location.  As I packed each gun for the move this past Monday I briefly looked them over. A little dry dust was on them. . The bores showed a gray deposit on the rifling.  I have to wonder if this isn’t oxidation of fouling. The ones I was most concerned about, the black powder cartridge guns were just fine.

A slow day hunting in Montana is better than any day working anywhere.
