Large Curly Cherry Corner Cupboard

I just finished this corner cupboard. It is 81" tall-48" wide and 24" deep. It took me over a month. It is made from curly cherry lumber. I made the moulding my self also. Carl L.

Absolutely beautiful work Carl! Where do you get all that curly cherry lumber? It seems like that's all you use :P Again, very nice work.

Beers and AtlLaw, thanks for the nice comments. I got this cherry from a saw mill here in West Virginia. Two yrs. ago a friend of mine that work's on a saw mill got this for me. They cut 30,000 ft of cherry that day. They let me have all the curly cherry they got out of it. There was only a little over 300 ft. of curly cherry in the 30,000 ft. Carl L.

AtlLaw, He got more than three beers. Man can he drink alot. jusr kidding. I have made his wife a lot of things. I am going to make her a blanket chest for Christmas out of cherry. That's all he wanted. Carl L

Sounds like we got a lot in common!   ;D  You tell him to keep his eye out for flame/feather crotch/stump walnut for me and I'll get him a 12 pack!  Heck, I'll even ride up there to pick it up!  Always did like West Virginie.   :D

Where in WV is this saw mill? I live in WV, Morgantown area. I realize that that particular lumber is gone, but I'm always looking for nearby sources of nice wood.

Beers, I am sorry but I can't disclose were the mill is at. They did this as a favor and told me not to tell anyone. They don't sell to the public. They wouldn't let me on the mill site either. I would suggest you go to a sawmill and talk to them and they might work with you on getting some nice lumber. Carl L.

Hey no problem, I can understand. I do have a few good sources of nice lumber I work with... I'm just always looking for other sources, especially if they're local.
