I've had good luck with 52 , 53 and 55 grain bullets , a buddy of mine has one that will only shoot 40 grain , I know thats not much help , you'll just have to try a few of each to see what it likes best .

Every rifle is a world unto itself , some even like bullets as light as 35 grain , not sure why .  ???

Stimpy is correct, what may work wonders in ours could be trash for yours.

That being said, be sure to try different bullet profiles. Some barrels just dont like boat tails while others didn't care for plain base bullets.
I have had a couple 22-250's, both have shown a preferance for the 55gr using H380 powder. (The name of this powder IS the load when using a 55gr bullet.) I have also had some good results with the Hornady 60gr SP.

I'm shooting 55 gr. Hornady V-Max, but I'm having an accuracy issue and haven't gotten into it yet.  Could be the rifle, could be the scope, could be the ammo.  I started with the .55 gr. thinking the heavier bullet would handle our constant wind here better.  I'll post when I get it sorted out.

A 50 V Max (boat tail) has a BC of .242. A 55 VMax (flat base) is .255. A 50 grain V Max at 3800fps will have 7.1" drift at 300 yards with a 10 MPH cross wind (22.7" @ 500). A 55 Grain V Max at 3600 fps will have 7.1" drift under the same conditions and 22.5" @ 500 yards. Virtually the same. The 50 V Max is a boat tail and the 55 is a flat base. I would let the gun tell me which is better and not worry about wind drift, because you will not tell much difference.
