If you mean that you're actually going to use this rifle for hunting, as opposed to letting it sit around collecting dust for the next 20 years, then I would get the .30-06 or the .270. Same difference.
But if it is going to be a cabinet dweller like most people do with limited editions with hopes of someday getting your money back out of it, then I would get the super-duper .270 mag or none at all. If it's going to sit around you won't need more than a box or two of ammo just in case you can sell the rifle in the future, so availability of ammo isn't an issue. So look closely at your real intended use of this piece before you have any regrets as a rifle that has 1, 2 or 3 shots thru it at the range is considered used and not NIB (unfired).
I use my Featherweight on bright, sunny days. But it gets used in the woods. It's a pain in the butt with a 22" barrel, but it gets the job done when I need it to.
