Ive got a Ruger #1 stainless laminate.it is a beautiful rifle but the factory trigger is between 7 and 8 lbs. What can i do to lighten it to about 3 or 4 lbs.I love the rifle but the trigger is way too heavy.
Thanks,

Hi Lynnbuck.....
here is what I did...first let me say I have both the newer ones and the older ones....I bought a new one in 280 Rem cal, and was very disappointed in the trigger...most of my older ones break at about 2 1/2 pounds....I finally found a replacement trigger in Brownells that wasnt  a target trigger, with set trigger and all...it was reasonable in price, less than $50 if I remember right...not being a gun smith I had it put in, and paid right around $90 installed and adjusted...sooo for $90 I have a 2 1/2 # trigger that feels almost as good as my older ones, and will probably get better with age....Blame the people who are suing the manufacturers for the heavy trigger pulls, they are just protecting us from the DUMMIES who are out to make a dime on their own stupidity......hahaha.... off my soap box for now......Rob in Olympia
