I can understand why they would quit making 357 max brass. What I can't understand is whey they would quit making 7.62x39 component brass?????

Prolly cuz the imported stuff is so cheap not enough folks are buying brass to reload.

I can't imagine them not making an occasional run in the future. The tooling has to be near identical except for the length.  It couldn't possibly be that difficuly or costly to "tool up" for some max cases after the tooling is already set up for standard357s.
Just another worthless opinion!!

From what I have read in the past, the .357 Max brass if formed from .223 brass in one of the final stages of drawing.  Maybe, they are making so many .223's and 5.56's that they don't profit as well with the .357 Max.  If I can find my print outs concerning the .357 Max forming, I will try to post a link.

I believe if Remington drops the .357 Max. the good folks at Starline will be glad to supply our needs.  They produce .357 Mag and .360 Dan Wesson brass so it shouldn't be too hard to get set up and running.

YES!
I like a 1k rotation but somehow my .45 Colt inventory got pushed up to around 1,500. It sure makes for good case life (especially for the varmint rifles) as I will keep all in rotation.

Just like the 221 Fireball/300 Whisper. Remington makes a run of brass in a certain caliber, then puts the dies away for awhile. Just because they don't make it now, doesn't mean in 6 month's or a year, they'll make it again. Seen it happen time and time again.  gypsyman
