.25 conversion?

I just have a couple of question about the conversion that i didn't find in the FAQ's.
does switching over make a difference in accuracy over the 209? from what i could see it appears that any standard socket wrench could be used to take them out-right?(anything would be better than what they have now)

A.  Yes, I would say it is more consistent = accuracy, but the 209 can be accurate if you use a new carrier for each shot. With the .25 ACP, you get the consistency every time because brass don't wash out like the plastic carriers.

A.  A 7/16" socket or a hex Knight breech plug wrench will work just fine on the .25 ACP plug. And you are right, anything is better than the supplied breech plug and wrench.

The biggest reason I switched is because it cuts back on the blowback about 95%.

When you go to .25 ACP ,do you use the original plug and have it worked or is a complete fabrication done ,leaving you with the original. If a totally new fabrication , are there any fit problems? Are ML breechplugs custom fit to their respective barrels" Are replacement plugs available?   Ken

The following information is for the newer .50 caliber NEF Huntsmans, NOT the older 1970's .45 cal, .58 cal, and 12 ga H&R Huntsmans.

A.  You just buy a new fabricated plug, very similar to the T/C plugs, only with a .25 ACP hole. No fit problems with the one I have, nor have I ever read of any here.

A.  The standard NEF plug is not conducive to reworking, due to the depth of the flash hole being to close to the primer. You would need to use some type of vent liner to make it work.

A. Replacement plug were available from NEF, and I hope they still are. A call to Customer Service would answer that one for you. I have a few of them.
