Hello all,

Well I did it, bought my first registered magnum. Don't you just love those pre-war smiths.

I have been selling a few modern guns the last year and a half and investing in pre-war smiths and a new motorcycle. I'd show you some pictures if I knew how. Regards, Byron

Hi Byron, what is a "registered magnum"? I have never heard that term.

That's pretty cool. Those were and still are quite the example of the craftsmanship/fit & finish of the early N frame S&W 357.
This thread really needs a pic of the Reg Mag.

Good morning to all, The registered magnums were the first of the N-frame 357 magnums that S&W offered for sale beginning in 1930. On the inside of the craine on the frame there was a # of registery and a certificate was also provided with the guns if requested. Of course there were no model numbers back then.

This gun was shipped to the Kansas city police dept in 1939, with a 4" barrel and Baughman quick draw sights and nickel finish. All # match including the stocks. The nickel finish is in excellent condition and may be a refinish. Regards, Byron

  Surely you didn't spend money on a motorcycle that "could have been" a drilling!!!    :o  :-\  >:(   :'(

Well DM, without your supervision see what happened.  :D Guess I just can't be trusted. If I find the right one I still have enought left for a drilling.
