It is mind-boggling to read all of the political comments in "Ole Pot-Bellied Stove" and similar threads! It makes me wonder just what the real effect of this year-long plus campaign is . Has ANYBODY been swayed away from where they were nearly a year ago? How many people would vote for Bush again---why not or, as the case may be ,why? I would really like to know the REAL reason people favor one candidate or party over another. Look at all the arguments for and against all of the candidates in this campaign and it only boils down to TWO people,or FOUR ,if you will, amazing! It seems if you could slip Alfred E. Neuman into the mix and use Ross Perot's money to boost him ,you could generate a viable contender. Does any body doubt that there are nameless ,faceless powers/influencers that greatly "guide" the so-called supreme-commander.READ 1985! That's even older than Bohemian Grove too,   Ken

The choice is simple enough to me. Mccain is pro gun, osama against. Mccain is pro life, osama pro death. Mccain is against gay marriage, osama is all for it. Mccain a Christian, osama a muslim. Easy for me. POWDERMAN.

I certainly do not consider McCain to be PRO gun but at least he is LESS ANTIGUN than Obama.

Would I vote for Bush again? Nope not a chance. However given the options I had both times he ran I'd vote against the opposition by marking by his name. It would be a vote against the oppostion not for him. If I had a viable choice I'd not have done so the second time around but I saw the only other option as far worse and really still believe it was. Bush was not in my opinion a good choice just the best option given us at the time.

Yes, I've changed my mind, rather than writing in a candidate, I will now vote for Sarah Palin.  John McCain made a wise choice in picking her.

I'm not voting for McCain, but rather the other person on the ticket.

It is a sad commentary on American politics that we often end up voting for who we believe to be the lesser of the two evils.

In truth, with the media and each party on a blood hunt to find out (or invent) and exploit ANY slip, no matter how minor, nor how far past, from the straight and narrow, and synthesize supposed idological failings to attract the knee-jerk fringes around the country, why would any moral and decent person subject themselves to the vilification of a race for national office?

Would I vote for Bush again?  Against Hussein?  Or Hillary?? Since I live in WV, I might vote for him several times.

This election is very easy to figure out.  You can either vote for McGore the unreliable conservative/liberal, or you can vote for Osama the commie.  My vote goes to McGore and I hope like hell that he wins and then promptly retires and hands it over to Sarah.

McCain is a member of a Baptist church in Arizona.  His wife worked with Mother Teresa in Bengladesh, and adopted two children from there.  She may be more "Christian" than him.  He was raised Episcopal.

Obama was raised Muslim by his father.  His mother was an atheist.  His grandparents on his mothers side, one Methodist, one Baptist.  Of course he went to a racist church for 20 years under Rev. Wright.

I voted for W first time 'cause I believed in him, not Gore.
Voted for W second time 'cause there was NO WAY I was gonna vote for Kerry.
This time I am voting for McCain because I hope, not yet quite believe, that he will be the best for us.
Palin is still an unknown to me. Not sure how much I hear is truth and how much is Hype.
