Well I guess the nice cool weather has passed, it back up to 45 this morning and cloudy....I suppose I'll put on my shorts and go cut the grass....Not!!!
Told the wife I was going to work on the garage yesterday...Found the ammo for my 338/308 AI. 50 rounds of 200gr. Nosler BT's left.
Couldn't find her ammo which means there is a packed box out there yet I haven't found. She has a .243. I don't like it all that well . She doesn't like recoil and will let you know it too! Couple days ago we were discussing deer hunting and she expressed concern about the number of deer she had shot and had to chase down. She was concerned that her shooting was to blame. I told her, her shot placment was okay, it was just the light 100 gr. 243 bullets, they just didn't have the punch to go through these big deer and they made a small wound channel. We have decide that we will get her a larger caliber rifle for next season.
Been thinking about a 7mm-08 for her. She is a meat hunter, get out and get it, and get back in. She's not one for hunting in the freezing cold that we get in the later season. she just wants to shot a deer and get back to the house. I think the 7mm-08 will fill the bill for her. Has a reputation as a good killer, moderate recoil good selection of bullets for reloading.
