I'm new to archery and just picked up a used bow. I noticed it had a small scratch on the limb right next to the cam. A couple small fibers have slightly seperated, there about 3/8" long. What's the best way to repair this? or should i just ignore it.
I'm with huntswithdogs and Graybeard, I wouldn't trust this until I could get someone to look at it, and then I wouldn't feel good about it until it was repaired. I've seen way to many compounds break, and I wouldn't want that experience, and trust me you don't either----Back years ago(1989, 1990-1991) when Pse made its "Thunder Flight" and "Fire Flight" and "Mach Flight 4" series of bows, they had a lot of problems with risers breaking in the middle. This happened because shooters were able to crank the poundage beyond what the bow specs. were. At the time, I was a regular in weekly 3d shoots at my local sportsmans club. I personally saw several bows break and believe me, it wasn't a fun experience to watch, much less have it happen to you. I sure was glad I had a Darton in those days
.
If I were you, I would have it repaired by a professional immediately and not even pull it back.
