What's your accurate Encore 209x50 load?
« on: September 09, 2008, 10:01:11 AM »
I'm still very new to muzzleloading and last year I settled in on two 50gr pyrodex pellets and a 295gr powerbelt.

I've got some different weight sabots and powerbelts.  I've also got some pyrodex & triple seven pellets.  I'm assuming that I'm going to have to clean after each shot to get any kind of good accuracy test.

If you guys have any suggestions for a good hunting load for a encore 209x50 please let me know.  Last years load was fine, but if there's something better I want to get a head start on it for this year.

Mine would shoot sub MOA with 120 grains of Pyrodex RS and a 230 grain .431 bullet in a sabot.
Wouldn't shoot ANYTHING else worth a dern.

3- 50gr. Pyrodex pellets, and a 250gr. SW bullet, any brand primer. I use a Nikon BDC scope, and the combination works spot on,out to 250 yds. The gun will also shoot well with 100grs. (volume measured) of ffgT7,with the same bullet, but the trajectory dosen't match up,with the scope. So if I'm hunting the deep woods, the 100gr. load will work well (no shots over 100yds) and if I'm hunting the edge (big bean/corn) fields I use the 3 pellet load for the extra range. Ron

85 grains of Goex FFFG and a Hornady XTP 300 grain bullet with a Harvester sabot.

Real black powder shoots great and it is very cheap to purchase.
