Lyman (commercial maker of lead bullet moulds) spells it with the U so I do when referring to that type of thing.  Otherwise, they seem to be two spellings for the same thing.

In the USA it's a mold.

In the UK it's a mould.

As noted there are exceptions.

I bought my 1.125" ball mold from JT in the UK, so technically my mold is a mould. ???
