knight BIGHORN loads ?

ive just bought a new knight bighorn , i'm new to muzzel loaders . what kind of loads do you guys shoot in your bighorn. i tried a hornady XTP 240 grain sabot and a 100 grain pyrodex (pellets) this gave me a group at 100 yards of about 6 inches  need some help please .

 How old is your Pyrodex? I shot some last year that seemed to have issues. Mine was 6+yrs old. I have heard it does not store well. It worked fine on my 25yrd shot on a doe with a homecast bullet. I shot my Knight Disc this week. I am very happy with my new setup of Hornaday SST 250 grn sabots over 100grns of the new Blackhorn 209 powder. I used both the 'low drag' & regular sabots. With the 209 the regular sabots were fine.

Do you have it scoped? If not I would go with a good 3x9. I have had great results with 95 grains 777 ffg powder and a 250 grain TC shockwave. I sight my knight in at 3.5 inches high at 100 yds. This allows me to aim at the kill zone of a deer from 0 to 175 yds. Beyond that it starts to drop quickly and requires a range finder to determine correct holdover. The above load has taken several deer in Florida and Iowa with my longest shot to date being 185 yds.
