I have one I really like it for cc.  I use I IWB holster it seems to work good for me

Kimber -- great gun --however, just sold my ultra tactical two days ago -- here's my reason ---all handguns I shoot, I hold as high (on the tang or under the beaver tail) as possible -- with the ultra, my hand depressed the tang safety about 90% of the time, until I lowered my grip by just a fraction -- could not risk the 10% when I needed it -- therefore I should receive my new Kimber Pro CDP II by Tuesday.  Full size frame has always been 100%. (My Gold Cup tells me so.)   The added bonus is the 4" barrel on the Pro --- minor shortcomings are magnified with a 3" --- this is obviously my personal issue -- see if you can try one first, even better --- either way you will be happy, it's a 1911........

The first Kimber I ever purchased was an Ultra Carry - 5 years ago.  It remains my carry gun.  It chews through ball, semi wadcutter, and hollow points with no problems.  The only thing I've done with mine is to change the sights to a set of Tru-Glo sights.  I like those a lot, but they did change the point of impact.

I have the same problem with my high grip on the 1911. My series I didn't have that problem. My Kimber Pro Carry is a series II, I frequently have the grip safety problem on a quick shot out of the holster. The hammer falls, but doesn't fire the gun. The Swartz firing pin safety is the culprit. Of course I can't recommend it, but if you remove the rear sight the spring and plunger might fall out. If this happens to you, be sure to replace the firing pin spring with a + power one from "Wolff Gunsprings."

I love mine. It is one of the first ones out. A couple of my friends that I shoot with all the time have newer ones. I carry mine in a Fogus holster.

I picked up my UC II a few weeks back and put 500 rounds through it.  Four malfunctions in the first hundred, but none in the last four hundred.  I bought some Wilson magazines, but found the Kimber one works just fine and doesn't stick out the bottom.

I haven't CC'd with it yet (being in California) but expect to do so when my Mitch Rosen "Tito" holster arrives and I travel where my permits work.

Bought it with one magazine fired through it for $625.  New here is about $825, so I thought it was a pretty good deal.

While I don't have a fight with folks thoughts on carry guns, I must admit that I have no concerns or problems with carrying or concealing a full sized government model OR my Sig P220.
I also must admit that I like larger rather than small.
Too each his own.
My reply is based on the arguement that has small being easier too carry and conceal.

i carry in a iwb holster so barrel lenght isnt a problem because its in my pants. The grip frame is what prints. A full sized gun is no harder to conseal then a comander. What i really like and carry the most is my kimber with an officers frame like you ultra carry but with a 4 inch barrel. Those 3 inch guns will shoot well of the bench but the same gun with a 4 inch barrel is much easier to shoot off hand.
