Talley/Warne ring question for T3's
« on: September 13, 2008, 09:38:36 AM »
With the tikka T3's I want to possibly go with Talley/warne rings or dednutz.  On the Talley/Warne type rings do you need a base for those or will they go on directly to the tikka's?  What ring sizes go with which sized bells?  I have a few scopes and am unsure which I will use.  I have 40mm, 44mm, and a 50mm scope bells.  I like to have the scope as close to the barrel as possible.  Thanks for your help.

I'm using warne medium rings with a 3x9x50 lupy vx2. The Warnes are meant to use the dovetail on the rifle, there is a button that engages the hole machined into the reciever. One caveate, the scope can only slide back so far before contacting the chamber area of the barrel. You'll want to double check clearances. I called Brownells with the scope make and they set me up right away and all worked out fine.
