You guys seem to do a lot of those bison Lloyd what's the cost to take one? I assume the hunt price includes the meat, head and hide?

bill the going rate for a cow is 1200 bucks. He skins and quarters it for you and butcher fee is probably 200 bucks to cut and wrap it. I get them substaintial cheaper and the same goes for the butcher. This buffalo was a freebee. Al and i cast and load all the owners ammo and he gives us a pretty good deal and was shammed into letting her shoot this one for free. Glanceblamm shes allready layed claim to the gun. dad is broke and scrambling to make trades but its not leaving the house. Ive got to get one myself. They were very well made guns. I want one in 44 mag with abut a 22 inch barrel. What a classy brush buster that would make. ps bill you can keep the head and hide but ive never found a good recipe for them. there supposidly strong enough that there chambering them in 454 so a guy could shoots some heavy 44s out of it.

Lloyd:  as long as you were carryin' one that's good enough!  Good for her and good for you.

A Mini Sharps - that is such a neat idea.  How on earth did you find something like that??? And, of course, where can I get one?????  Thanks.  Mikey

Lloyd,

How much meat do you get off of a 900 lb. buffalo?  And, where in Michigan is this ranch located, if you'd be willing to tell?

As to the where for the rifle i dont know yet. The guy that owned to company sent it to my buddy Al to try. Jeff Quinn who has the gunblast site was up visiting last week too and hes wanting one in 3030 and im sure youll see a test on it when he gets it with the info to buy it. Al is keeping this one. What we were told is they are going to run around 800 bucks which is a steal for these things. they seem to be very well made guns. The bullalo are at my buddys game ranch in Northland MI. dont look on the map as northland has about 30 people living there. A few houses and a bar! If you want contact info email me or pm me. I wont post it on here because hes not an advertiser. I would guess that a guy would get between  400 lbs or a little better in meat off a 900 lb cow. Ive never weighted it to be sure so thats just a guess. Whats nice for me living local is I can shoot one and Dave skins and quarters it and even brings it to the meat processor and picks it up and delivers it to my house. So i can baisicaly put a bullet in it crack a beer and relax and a couple weeks later load it in the freezer. Ill give you a little admission that will make you laugh but about made me cry. I had about 300 lbs of meat in my extra freezer thats out in a shed. I went in there a couple weeks back to grab some steaks to take to camp. The door on the freezer never worked properly and ive got a lock lasp on it that i stick a rod through to keep the door closed. Well i got the steaks went to camp for 3 days and came home. I was doing some painting on my 4 wheeler racks on a table outside the shed and kept smelling something. All of a sudden a lightbulb went off and my head and i opened the shed to find the door wide open and blood all over everywhere. I salvaged maybe a 100 lbs of the meat and lost about 200lbs of good meat. I was about sick. Ended up giving it to my buddy for bear bait!! Looks like im going buffalo hunting again soon!!

We had friends in Manville Wyo. that raise buffalo to hunt. We don't even have a Manville phone book anymore, but his name is Brad Reese. Actuslly his number would be in the Douglas Wyo book.

I keep checking to see if anymore info about that rifle comes in.  If you do happen to find out the contact info for the maker.  I would be extremely interested.  That really is a sweet gun.
