Remington Choke Options
« on: September 17, 2008, 07:38:08 AM »
Do they make a choke tube between their full and modified - 12 ga,  .036 and .018 restriction.

I see other makes but am not sure if those named "Improved Modified" are actually between the remington full and modified restriction values.

What do most of you remington shotgunners use to fill this gap?

Doesn't look like it. Remington doesn't list Improved Modified as an option in their catalog. They don't publish the constrictions.

Dunno if Remington does but many after market makers do such as Briley and Hastings and many others. Improved Modified is between MOD and FULL. Light Modified is between IC and MOD.

I saw Hastings has the Improved modified, and am comfortable assuming it will fall nicely between the hastings full and modified.  I just cant find the actual diameters and constriction data to know if it falls nicely between the 2 remington tubes I have.

Here is the remington data, I have not seen similar for hastings

http://www.remington.com/products/accessories/gun_parts/remchoke_specs.asp

it looks like the "trap singles" fits in there, but I have never seen one of those listed for sale.

You can find the data on Hastings site I'm sure. I'm almost certain it's listed in the Midsouth Shooter's Supply catalog page where they sell the Hastings choke tubes.

I could not find it on Hastings site, so I sent an email to them.  I will look into midsouth for info.
