I hava a couple of Howa 1500s including a 2N1 Youth in 308. The Ranchland is essentially the 20" youth barrel paired with a full sized Hogue stock. The 2N1 Youth includes both stocks for just a few dollars more. Howas are good rifles. Accurate and reliable and inexpensive. You could do a lot worse for the price. If you're looking for super small I'd consider the 2N1 Youth as well as the Ranchland, and perhaps a CZ527 Carbine.
Front: Full sized Howa M1500 30-06; rear, 2N1 Youth with the youth stock
