Gold Plated Trigger and Hammer
« on: September 18, 2008, 07:11:29 AM »
I had a wild hair today and called a gold plating service to see what it would cost to Gold plate the hammer and trigger of a handy. (I like the gold look)

Minimum order is 100 bucks. I talked to the guy for a while and told him about the group and let him know that their could be a few more that would be interested.

He thinks we could get it down to around 10-15 dollars a set for a group of us. First he wants to do a sample set to make sure the tollerances are ok.

My question is, how many people would be willing to send me your Hammer and Trigger (he said that they can keep them seperated) so I can send off as a group?

I'd go for a couple triggers to match the gold hammers I already have.  ;)

I guess I'm both cheap and old fashioned.  Will it make it stronger??  Last longer?  To me it is just something else to flash back at a critter and let him know you're there.  Probably have to put black shoe polish on it!  But, I guess I'm hypocritical too.  I have pierced ears at age 67 and wear an earing from time to time, but not hunting.....game that is.

Even tho this kinda sorta "almost" like advertising for the company who isn't a sponsor I'm gonna allow it for now at least.

I'd be EXTREMELY WARY of the claim you'll get your own trigger/hammer back. I'd say your chances of that are somewhere between slim and none.
