I have several hundred pounds of lead lying around my house and really want to be able to use cast bullets in my muzzleloaders. I have a Green Mountain 1:28 twist barrel on my flintlock and have tried bullets up to 410 grains with no luck. It does shoot sabots very well. I have heard that with the fast twist, a bullet in the 460gr range is best. Anyone have any experience and know where to get a mould for bullets that heavy. I have a 375gr mould that works very well for my 1:48 twist barrels but they are no good in my fast twist barrels.
