New finish for my DW?
« on: September 21, 2008, 01:03:52 PM »
I got a Monson Dan Wesson 44, an old warhorse, that needs to be prettied up. Bluing is well worn and a bit scratched. I was wondering, can I only get a reblue, or are there other coatings/finishes that I could consider? Any suggestions?

I'm torn two different ways. Part of me says re-blue. But the other part of me says to call Robar and check into eithertheir Roguard or NP3 coatings. Just my thoughts.

Yeah, I know, a Monson, maybe keep close to original. But its not pristine to begin with, so maybe NP3. Thanks. maybe cera-kote?

There are a couple of pictures posted by "Rapid1" of a DW that had been hard chromed about half way down in this link:
