...but they didnt seem as accurate as the bullets intended for the 45. I started with the load that I normaly use for the .45, but figured, I could use a hotter load for the lighter, smaller diameter bullet, so I tried some starting loads for .357 Mag. I worked them up pretty hot, but still liked the .45's better. WARNING.....BE CAREFULL. Compare load data if you experiment with these. The recommended industry standard C.U.P. (whatever that means) (Pressure generated in your chamber before it blows up in your face).......for 357 Mag is 35,000 C.U.P. .45 Colt for Contender or Blackhawk is only 25,000 CUP according to the Speer manual. DO NOT USE ANY OF THESE LOADS IN AN OLD REVOLVER. The maximum for any old Cowby actions is only 14,000 CUP. Be carefull whatever you do, whenever using other than carefully researched and published loads. Read the books.
