Instead, I'm in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in a 'We Deserve It Dividend'.

To make the math simple, let's assume there are 200,000,000 bonafide U.S. Citizens 18+.

Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up..

So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billon that equals $425,000.00.

My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a 'We Deserve It Dividend'.

Of course, it would NOT be tax free.

So let's assume a tax rate of 30%.

Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes.

That sends $25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam.

But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket.

A husband and wife have $595,000.00.

What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your family?

Pay off your mortgage - housing crisis solved.
Repay college loans - what a great boost to new grads
Put away money for college - it'll be there
Save in a bank - create money to loan to entrepreneurs.
Buy a new car - create jobs
Invest in the market - capital drives growth
Pay for your parent's medical insurance - health care improves
Enable Deadbeat Dads to come clean - or else

Remember this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+ including the folks who lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other company that is cutting back, and of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces.

If we're going to re-distribute wealth let's really do it...instead of trickling out a puny $1000.00 ( "vote buy" ) economic incentive that is being proposed by one of our candidates for President.

The government could easily do this.  They could stipulate money could only be used for mortgage payoff, school, or if older a retirement account.  However, they would have to get rid of the welfare department, government housing, and social security.  This would eliminate thousands of jobs with the government.

Actually if you do the math right you'll see that per capita it's NOT a big amount. Yeah when you look at the total it SEEMS BIG but if divided out per capita it's only $425 that's hardly earth shaking even if each of it actually dug down to pay it.

I don't pretend to know what the right course of action here is and quite frankly doubt seriously anyone on this site does. I do hope sincerely someone out there somewhere does and that the right course of action is taken but I confess I don't know what is right.

I don't like the idea of bailing out failing businesses and prefer to see businesses that can't manage their affairs properly fail and go out of business generally they will soon enough be replaced by another. But IF and that is to me a GREAT BIG IF but if not bailing them out does bring on a deep and long recession or worse yet a depression then not having done the bail out would have proven to be a grossly stupid move. I wish I was wise enough to know which course is the proper one but I don't. Neither do you just think your view is the only right view as most folks do these days. I'm not sure there is a clear right or wrong answer to this mess.

I've talked with several people, from both Britain and Scotland and we all understand each other perfectly. 

I wish I could say that but can't. Quite honestly I can't understand half of what British folks say. They speak too fast like yankees do and use words that just don't mean the same thing to me they do to them. Now I don't meet many Brits face to face and maybe it's only the TV shows I see on their TV network that I'm drawing this conclusion from. I watch a few shows on British TV and quite honestly they are extremely difficult for me to follow as I just plain don't understand much of what they say. I have DVR and often run it back two or three times and then give up trying to figure out what was said. No they DO NOT speak the same language as we do at least not we here in the south.

They sure didn't because that's something no government would ever do. Freedom is the exact opposite of what governments stand for. They damn sure can take it from us and are trying mighty hard right now to do exactly that.

Quite honestly I don't believe we can prevent them from doing it either. There are just too many complacent folks and those who actually are wanting what is coming to happen so it can't be done at the polls and I think we're way too far gone to do it by force. Hard times they be a coming and to a town near you real soon.

I have been doing some thinking about this bail out today while hanging drywall. I sure don't don't agree with it but I think it has to be done. If you think about it credit is just as important to a business as big trucks are to our country and business's. Everthing you own has been on a truck one time or another and without trucking the country would shut down just the same way that all business's rely on credit to keep their products coming in. Without credit I don't think even the small business,s in your or my town could keep going for long. Pretty soon the stores run out of food and then we have ciaos on our hands. Just my thoughts. Dunno the more I think about it the more I think it's a major snow job from Bush again. If the real bottom line is less than $450 per capita it's not that big a deal do do but then if that's all it really amounts to I guess I just don't see it shutting down the economy if it doesn't happen either. The more I think on it the more I say it shouldn't happen.

In the grander scheme of the US economy $700,000,000,000 is a drop in the bucket.

the thing that scares me is that they are trying to push it through before anyone really knows what exactly they are pushing through.  if the system is that screwed up and on the edge, this surely is not going to save it.   what is the harm in thinking this through?

life has taught that whenever someone is pushing a deal through, the more they want to rush the deal through, the odds are higher that it is a bad deal.   it is a great way to get yourself screwed, trusting people you shouldnt trust and rushing into deals with them.   i will pass, thank you very much.   it doesnt matter anyhow, the toilet has already been flushed.   this is a delay that will make it worse in the end. 
     y'all drink their kool-aid if'n you want to,  God knows they love the sheeple.  and they are right, because UNFORTUNATELY, there are more swampmen out there than myronmen.
