We have my hunting buddys first bear a 240lb to 250lb black.My brother missed a easy 120 yard shot at a nice 300lb+ brown/black.It is my turn next I had a hard time not shooting at those two bear.I have a new rig a 300Mag pistol that is just itching to shot a bear.

i haven't gotten a bear yet but this year is starting to look good. Just on Saturday morning i was driving to work and guess what i saw :lol:
At first while i was driving i saw something redish/brown in color sitting in the road. And from that distance i thought hmmm...why is that fox sitting in the middle of the road looking at me. Then something about the same size ran across the road. But this animal was black!!! WOAH, that was a bear cub!!! as i got closer and stopped about 40 yards from this cinnamon colored bear mama came out. She had made her mind up that she was going to make me 10 minutes late for work by sitting in the middle of the road with her abnormal cub.

I didn't even know we had cinnamon bear in PA. That is, if it even was. I know for sure all three were bear.

BTW, Mama was only about 150lbs.

Nothing yet for me, but hopefully that will change next week. Going caribou hunting and hope to see or possibly take a grizzly or three black bears. :grin:

P.S. I only want one black bear, not three!

Don't do this to me!!! All we can do, here in Minnesota, is wait another 25 days, 16 hours, 45 minutes and a few seconds until our season opens...

Talon, let's pray for 3 weeks of dry weather. I was up at Kabetogama a while back and a week with no mosquitoes was a wonderful thing! I'll be hunting in the Red Lake area and the bugs are way down over there too. One of the guys I'm taking out this year went for a little drive south of Red about 2 weeks ago and saw a real brute crossing one of the rice paddies we hunt behind. :eek: Can you imagine how long the next 25 days are going to be for him.
